Hypnotherapy Techniques

Complete Mind Therapy

mind like a computerI use Complete Mind Therapies (CMT) during most of my work. It is the term used for utilizing more than one specific technique during a Session. So for example, someone may wish to Regress, but I will use 'Visualization', 'Deep Relaxation', 'Hypnosis' and 'Regression' techniques during the Session.

Deep Relaxation

Although it isn't absolutely essential for the Client to relax to go into Hypnotic Trance, it is my preferred method as it is gentle, pleasant and ultimately really refreshing. In our hectic lives, Deep Relaxation is so important and allows access into the unconscious mind.

Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis

Hypnosis is the term used which refers to being deeply absorbed, fascinated or focused and Hypnotherapy the utilization of this state to become active in some way to create change.

Age Regression

Not to be confused with Past Life Regression. Age Regression is when you witness yourself at an earlier age or when you actually feel as if you are a younger version of yourself. Often people have the emotional age of a much younger person reacting from within and it can be very helpful to 'grow it up', release or rescue it in someway.

Future Progression

A simple but effective way of procuring the unconscious mind's co operation in making changes. Viewing oneself as already successful in achieving the aim creates a 'target' to lock on to - 'seeing' yourself a non smoker, slimmer, more confident etc. It can also be used to look ahead at yourself if you don't make the necessary changes now.

Positive Suggestion

When you buy a pre recorded sel help CD, Tape or Video, they comprise mostly of 'Positive Suggestion'. Phrases such as 'you will now feel happier' or 'you will eat less' etc, are put to you in many ways. But if you have an 'issue' to deal with that must be rectified first! In decorating terms, if Hypnotherapy is the clearing out and the stripping down, the filling of the cracks and the sanding - then Positive Suggestion is the brand new paint on top!

Visualization

Is simply using your imagination to 'see' something. Most people if asked how many windows are in their house, will picture their home to count them! It is the ability to day dream, fantasize or hallucinate.

Rocky path through psychic landscapeGuided Imagery

This takes Visualization one step further and you navigate your way through a journey, landscape, building or scene. The imagery can come unbidden from your unconscious mind or be constructed with effort. It is a lovely way of negotiating problems without even knowing what they are!

Aversion Technique

Can be used to cause an adverse response to a food item or behaviour but work with other techniques is usually done first. As with positive suggestion, aversion is best added as the top coat when the actual issue has been addressed.

Past Life Regression

A most controversial technique that can be very helpful in specific circumstances. Unfortunately it has been over popularised by the media and is regarded as something of a novelty. I choose only to work with this tool when a client has convinced me that it is actually necessary for their benefit in this life!

Psycho-Sexual Therapy

Talking about sex with a therapist is often far easier than with someone you know and love. Using Combined Techniques, whatever the problem is, it can be negotiated or developed in someway. Often confidence is an issue, or a negative experience which is now out of date or simply a lack of communication - whatever the problem, it can be sorted from the inside out!

Fears, Phobias, Anxiety, Panic!

So many people lead their lives ruled by irrational feelings and reactions. This is some of my favourite work because the release from the problem really allows the Client to 'live' a normal life. Please note, I use CMT and not Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for such problems.

Stress Management

Stress is a killer, and yet it is subjective! What stresses one will not be a problem to another! At its worst it can affect you physically, mentally and emotionally. It can make you feel as though you are dying! Relaxing is essential! Having calmer responses makes you more efficient, happier and healthier. Regular deep relaxation is important for Stress Addicts.

Relationship Psychology

Men and women are different! We have different brains, different communication equipment, different everything! And it's wonderful! I can explain away most of "His 'n' Her's" annoying habits, allowing each person in a loving relationship to get so much more pleasure and understanding with their partner!

Confidence Counsellor

Confidence is the key to all things. You may be intelligent, artistic, musical etc, but if you have no confidence, you may not realize your own potential. Someone with less ability and a healthy confidence, may well become ultimately more successful. Which is exactly where you need to go to sort it out! After a thorough consultation I use various techniques to help you reset your mind to assist you in attaining your goals.

Grovian Technique

I often use this technique to eliminate negative feelings such as guilt, dread, frustration, resentment, fear etc,. By 'locating' the feeling with imagery and using 'Clean Language' to destroy or change it in some way is an extremely effective and gentle way to alter feelings.
